ADIREI NEWS: Rav Elya Chaim Swerdloff to Address Adirei HaTorah Event
Rav Elya Chaim Swerdloff, rosh yeshiva of the Paterson Yeshiva, will be one of the guest speakers at the upcoming Adirei Hatorah event, Matzav.com has learned.
While rumors of his speaking had been bandied about, it was only finalized last night.
Rav Swerdloff is recognized as one of the leading roshei yeshivos in the United States. His yeshiva is renowned for its sterling reputation and for producing bnei Torah of the highest caliber.
Rav Swerdloff, who learned at Yeshiva Bais Hatalmud in his younger years, is a son of Reb Moish Swerdloff zt”l, one of the outstanding members of the East New York kehillah of the last century that coalesced around the Young Israel of New Lots and the special Yidden of the community at the time.
Rav Swerdloff’s rebbetzinis a daughter of Rav Gershon Weisenfeld zt”l, rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva Bais Hatalmud and founding rosh yeshiva of Passaic Yeshiva. Rav Gershon’s rebbetzin, Rivka, was a daughter of Rav Mendel Zaks and a granddaughter of the Chofetz Chaim.
As previously reported here on Matzav.com, Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, rosh yeshivas Rashbi in Bnei Brak, and Rav Dov Landau, rosh yeshivas Slabodka in Bnei Brak, will be flying in for the Adirei Hatorah event, scheduled for this Sunday, June 4, at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia.
Adirei Hatorah is an initiative spearheaded by Mr. Leizer Scheiner and others to ensure proper reverence for bnei Torah in general and specifically the yungeleit of America’s largest yeshiva, Bais Medrash Govoah, in Lakewood, NJ. The initiative has led to the doubling of the kollel checks of the yungeleit and raised tens of millions of dollars in an amazing show of hachzokas haTorah.
