When you plow your field, and plant, it's not easy, and then you wait while the wheat grows ... The wife says what do you mean Hashem brings forth bread from the ground? Weren’t you laboring the whole year? So the farmer says, "When Hashem rewarded my efforts in a natural way, it was because He was rewarding me for some good deed.. The good deed of making a  bracha  (blessing) — that’s why I deserved the bread.” –  Test of Emunah (#557) Subscribe    Own a SimchaPod?  Get  the biggest file update in ten years !    (Can't view the page? In general, after people suffer persecution and various difficulties, especially for a significant amount of time, it may take years of rehabilitation to overcome the trauma and return to a life of a semblance of normalcy. The persecution and untold hardship suffered at the hands of the Greeks and the Misyavnim- the Hellenists- was immense and decades long. The fact that within a year’s time they were able to function as a community and gather as a nation to innovate a new holiday is testimony to their extraordinary resilience. Their triumph against their immense challenges and their perseverance was an unprecedented accomplis...

Alas for the man who permits himself to be deluded by the darkness of the Evil Inclination! Such men are not able to enjoy the Afterlife, for they are not prepared; they have accustomed themselves to delight in the false pleasures of the body. The conditions which made the righteous happy in the Afterlife, make the unprepared unhappy. -  Rejoice, O Youth Subscribe    Own a SimchaPod?  Get  the biggest file update in ten years !    (Can't view the page? All credit goes to Dirshu | 911 County Line Rd. , Suite 205, Lakewood, NJ 08701 What should be done with frayed  tzitzis  strings? Mitzvah  objects (e.g.  tzitzis, daled minim)  may be discarded upon completion of the  mitzvah . Unlike  tashmishei kedusha  (e.g.  tefillin, Sifrei Torah ), they do not have inherent holiness and do not need to be buried. Nevertheless, they must be treated with dignity and cannot be disposed of in a disgraceful way. They should not be directly tossed into a rubbish pile. If, however, they were left out and another person threw them away, it is not necessary to retrieve them from the garbage. Although it is not halachically   necessary, it is praiseworthy to bury used  mitzvah  objects. [שו"ע תרסד, ח, משנ"ב כח-כט, ושעה"צ כ; ביאורים ומוספים דרשו, 22]

November 28, 2021 | כ״ד בְּכִסְלֵו תשפ״ב How Can You Control Your Instincts? The  Avos  (forefathers) trained themselves to be in full control of every motion and of every whim and instinct. It was a lot of work, but they did it in their service to Hashem;  they and their wives and their children and even their slaves. Of course, if we imitate them even a little bit it’s a big success. But Avraham was a  moshel  (in control) over everything, even the sense of sight and the sense of hearing. –   Shemonah Esrai (#267) Subscribe    Own a SimchaPod?  Get  the biggest file update in ten years !    (Can't view the page?
