Should an overnight flight be scheduled on Chanukah?

Some Achronim rule that a homeless person, or one who will not be in a home for one of the nights of Chanukah, is exempt from the mitzvah of hadlokas ner Chanukah. They explain that the primary obligation is for the home to have neiros. A person without a home is therefore not obligated to light. Nonetheless, it is recommended that a person arrange a dwelling place for himself during Chanukah so that he can fulfill the mitzvah. Other Achronim hold that a person must go as far as to sell his clothing in order to arrange a home for himself during Chanukah to fulfill the mitzvah. They hold that the primary obligation is for the person to light candles, and a home is a necessary component to be yotzei the mitzvah. In their opinion, a person may not schedule an overnight trip in which he will not be home for the entire night. If a great financial loss would be incurred by not traveling, boarding an overnight flight before sunset would be permitted.
